The college is governed by Sri Kaginele Mahasamsthana Kanaka Gurupeetha Trust., established by Late. Shri Beerendra Keshava Tarakananda Puri Swamiji in 1996 and being chaired by His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Niranjanandapuri Swamiji, President of Sri Kaginele Mahasamsthana Kanaka Gurupeetha, Shreekshethra Kaginele, Byadagi Taluk, Haveri Dist., and Sri Sri Dr.Shivanandapuri Swamiji, Mysuru Division.

The trust consists of trustees from all walks of life., State Government, University, Educationists and other eminent leaders. The management is a guiding force in the administrative matters of the college.

SKMK College of Education is located at the heart of Mysuru City, having every potential to achieve excellence and develop itself into a model Teachers Training College. The college is striving to make higher education inclusive, qualitative and endeavors to ensure access, equality and excellence to the students in relation to present global needs.

The college caters to the disadvantaged, downtrodden and under-Privileged both urban and rural students. With a span of past 26 years of successful voyage of educational excellence, the college has maintained reputation in the district, neighborhood states on par and above in comparison with neighboring teacher training institutions. In toto, the college stands best in extending services while ensuring the presence of under-privileged students too by protecting and promoting their post admission needs like scholarship, fee-concessions and also to specific socio-academic needs.
