The department of Social Science had conducted a discussion on ‘Battle of Talikota’ (Rakkasatangadi) in our college on 23rd February 2023. Convener, Smt.K.Sujatha, also the social professor, guided and organized this programme with a very intention to help students knowledge arranged the classroom and programme in such a beautiful way that it was memorable. Moreover, all the students involved and discussed about the glory and the downfall of a major kingdom of Karnataka.
There was a systematic and organized way of discussion programme. It was full of information and the major attraction was the images, videos and documentaries about the Vijayanagara Empire. All the pupil were excited to convey and receive the discussion. These developed the interest in students and there was a healthy discussion among students. The teacher gave ore information and the discussion showed progress of the field of history.
There are many sayings in history i.e., “History belongs in the past; but understanding it is the duty of the present”. “We are not makers of history. We are made by history”.
At the end, the convener delivered a speech and encouraged the students to organize such events often. This was an amazing and informative discussion for students. These types of discussions are a source to increase knowledge and interest in the field of social science. This also helps students to perform well in the examination.
